Fusion Product Development (FPD) is a general Design of Experiments (DOE) module which plugs into the Fusion AE platform in the same fashion as the Fusion LC Method Development (FMD) module. It connects into the same Fusion Administrator controlled 21 CFR 11 Regulatory Compliance and Workflow Management System feature sets, and has the same internal e-signature and audit trail features. The experiment setup interface is generalized, so the user can create any kind of experiment for any kind and combination of user-defined variables.

FPD also creates testing designs associated with the experiment design which can be exported to the Empower CDS when some results are to be obtained by LC or GC testing, and of course FPD automatically captures the chromatographic results and remaps them to the experiment design for data analysis, graphing, robustness modeling, optimization, and reporting.

In addition, FPD can automatically process dissolution results data for experiments such as formulation studies in which dissolution data will be obtained from LC as part of the results to be analyzed. This processing includes automatic calculation of f1 difference, f2 similarity, and Weibull curve fit metrics.
